Buddy needs your vote on Saturday, November 17th!

Election Day is fast approaching and Buddy needs your vote to win in the runoff election! Below is information on how to find out where your normal polling location is, when you can vote early, and other important details on voting.

Polling Place Locator

To find out where you need to go to vote on election day, click this link to use the Secretary of State's Polling Place Locator. You must have been registered by October 18th to vote in this November's election.

Early Voting

If you think you might be unable to make it to the polls on Election Day, you can now vote early - for whatever reason. Duck Hunting season starts on November 17th, the day of the runoff election, so it is very important for hunters to know that Early Voting will take place November 3-10, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Saturday. Please remember to vote early if you think you will be out of town for the election date. To find your early voting polling location, call your local parish election office using the directory located here.

Voting Absentee by Mail

If you were not displaced by the hurricanes but are still unable to get to the polls on Election Day, you can request an absentee ballot by mail. You can print and fill out an absentee ballot request by clicking here.

To vote by regular absentee ballot you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions:

  • Be on a business or personal trip outside the parish on Election Day AND during the special early voting dates of November 3rd - November 10th, when you would otherwise vote in person.
  • Duck Hunters should know that the season begins on November 17th. If you will be out of town for early voting, and on Election Day, you can absentee vote by mail.

  • Be in the hospital on Election Day if you did not know you would be in the hospital until after November 10th.

  • Be a member of the military or the wife or child of a member of the armed forces who will not be in town on Election Day. Visit this link for more info: http://www.sos.louisiana.gov/tabid/618/Default.aspx

  • Be a student at a college or university located outside the parish who will not be in town on Election Day.

  • Be off-shore or on the water at work and unable to get to the polls on Election Day or during the special Early Voting period.

  • Be a member of the clergy who is temporarily assigned to a location outside your home parish and you will not be in town on Election Day.

  • Be on a jury where you are sequestered and you cannot get to the polls on Election Day (for additional conditions, visit: http://www.sos.louisiana.gov/tabid/169/Default.aspx)

If you meet one of these conditions, fill out an absentee ballot request form and send it to your parish election office. You can find your parish registrar's office by clicking here.
